Learning Focus: Sequencing

1. Today we’re going to retell the story of the Little Red Riding Hood.  There are 2 options:

If you have a printer, follow these instructions:

  • Using this worksheet, retell the story of the Little Red Riding Hood. You can print the worksheet, colour the pictures, cut them out and place them in the proper order.
  • Retell the story to someone in your family or video it for me and post on Seesaw!

If you don’t have a printer, the instructions for the retelling activity are on Seesaw.

Learning Focus: Subitizing

1. Today we’re playing a Math game called Subi-Swat.  You’ll need sticky notes (or pieces of paper) and a fly swatter if you have it (you can use your hand if you don’t).  First you’ll need to prep your board.  I’ve attached pre-made dot cards but you can certainly make your own if you don’t have a printer.  Here’s a video explaining how to play:

Learning Focus: Doubles

1. Today we’re playing a game called Double Trouble.  You’ll need a single die for this (I believe Mrs. Unrau sent home a couple).  If you’ve misplaced yours, here is an online version: https://www.random.org/dice/

You’ll also need the Double Trouble worksheet .  If you don’t have a printer, you can quickly write one up on paper.

Every time you roll the die, double the number you have.  For example, if I roll a 1, 1+1=2 so I can colour in "2".  If I roll a 3, 3+3=6 so I can colour in "6". Keep going until you’ve covered the whole page.  You can also play with someone and see who can fill their sheet first (it gets tricky near the end trying to roll what you still need!).
