Literacy
Learning Focus: Comparing ideas in a story and constructing meaning.
1. Listen to the story of The Three Little Pigs.
2. In your journal, write about the following:
- Which house is the strongest?
- Why is it the strongest?
- If you were to build a strong house, what materials would you use?
- Draw a picture of this type of house.
3. Send me a picture of your writing on Seesaw and/or a video of you reading me your answer.
Here’s an extra (fun!) optional activity for Science:
1. Build 3 little houses out of different types of materials. Use recycled materials or anything you can find in your house. Some ideas include popsicle sticks, tin foil, straws, marshmallows, sugar cubes, deck of cards, cardboard from your recycling bin or LEGO. It’s okay if it falls apart right away. That’s an important thing to notice about the type of material you used.
2. In your journal, tell me which material made the strongest house. What made the weakest house?
3. Send me a picture of your houses on Seesaw.
